The Hunger is a great game with a lot of strategic elements that we enjoyed playing. The rulebook is very easy to follow and the components are very high quality. Two factors that can really make a board game more enjoyable.
Players are vampires racing back to the castle and collecting familiars, humans, and powers along the way. Any player that doesn’t make it back before the last round ends will burn to ashes in the sun. There is also a little take that in this game, as vampires can push other vampires back a space when they land on the same space.
The Hunger is a deck building game with the added excitement of racing back to the castle, collecting loot from chests, and using passive abilities from Familiars. The goal of the game is to earn the most victory points and making it back to the castle. The game ends after 15 rounds and any player that does not make it back to the castle is eliminated instantly. To clarify, if you have the most victory points and didn’t manage to make it back you are out of the game and cannot win.
