An Age Contrived is a very thematic fantasy euro board game based on a mythology created by Chris Matthew. Players will transform into mighty gods, battling for supremacy and influence in the mortal realm. Each player has variable powers that will give them distinctive abilities, unlocked throughout the game, that power up their actions. The innovative action taking mechanism features a conveyor belt (Transmutation Device) like device with transumer tiles, and the ability to allocate energy to an array of actions on a track. 
During each turn players can advance their conveyor engine by adding a section, or perform actions that allow you to interact with the board and obtain transmuter tiles, energy tokens to build monuments and create chains that allow for multiple actions. Your ultimate objective is to craft masterful combos to build monuments that magnetically connect to the board and amass as much energy as possible to sway mortal followers.
Game Components:
The game is a little complex, yet still easy enough to learn and teach in under 30 minutes. Setup and teardown takes 15-20 minutes. Make sure to expect a 2-3 hour learn and teach the first time playing the game.
The game components are captivating and elevates the allure of the game. The production quality is top notch, with chunky plastic tiles, magnetic 3D monuments, and miniatures that are very detailed. 
Final Thoughts:
The game plays quickly once you understand the game and flows smoothly. This is not a luck based game, nor a game for beginners. The game mechanics introduce several advanced mechanics that advanced players will be familiar with, while also introducing some new ones that take several plays to become accustomed to. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our play of An Aged Contrived, although; realized that the game is one that would get limited play, due to the relearning of the mechanism during each play. 
Overall, we highly recommend An Age Contrived to any board game enthusiast that enjoys a crunchy euro with no luck and all strategy. This is a very memorable game that will challenge each player with moments of analysis paralysis while also bringing joy of overcoming obstacles to become supreme and ensuring the win.
